Can I Set Restrictions on Holiday Requests?

Various restrictions can be applied to your Staff Squared calendar to help manage the way your staff request and book their leave. 

NB: Restrictions will not prevent staff from submitting requests, nor will it stop line managers or approvers from approving them. When staff request leave that exceed your restrictions, they will be warned of the restriction and that the request may be rejected. When the request is sent to the line manager or approver, they will also see the same warning. 

Restrictions include:
  • Block holiday requests that exceed holiday allowance.
  • Maximum consecutive holiday days in one booking.
  • Maximum absent staff at one time.
  • Maximum absent staff by department, staff group or custom group.
  • Blocked holiday periods.
To set your holiday restrictions, go to your Company Settings > Holidays tab and scroll to Holiday Restrictions. You will find a list of different settings which can be applied as shown below.
