Can I Determine whether a Custom Absence Type Name Shows in the Daily 'Who's Out?' Email?

When sending daily 'Who's Out?' and 'Week Ahead' emails to your staff, all absences that fall within the reporting period of those emails are shown.

NB: Note that if your company settings specify that staff should only see their own holidays, custom absences and sick leave, these emails will respect those settings and staff will not be able to see their colleague's absences if they receive these emails.

Some custom absence types may be more sensitive than others, so you might want to choose not to display the absence type name in email reporting.

When you initially create a new custom absence type, you are able to choose whether to show the full absence name in any email or Slack notifications that are sent out, or only show 'custom absence' if you prefer not to display this information.

If you have already set up a custom absence type and wish to view or amend this setting, you can do so at any time. To do this, go to your company settings and open the calendar tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the custom absence you wish to amend. Click edit and then toggle the display name in notification emails and Slack? option depending on whether you want to display the absence name in emails or not. (Toggle on [green] to show absence name in emails and toggle off [grey] to hide it).
