Can I Limit How Many Times My Staff Use a Custom Absence Type?

To set limits on how many consecutive days or instances in a holiday year your staff can use a certain custom absence type:
  1. Go to Company Settings > Calendar.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  3. Find the absence type you want to apply the restrictions to and click edit to the far right.
  4. Enter the maximum number of consecutive days and instances you want to apply.
  5. Hit 'Save'.
If you are creating a brand new custom absence type, you will be able to enter these values at the time of creation.

NB: The limits you apply to a custom absence type won't prevent staff from submitting requests, nor will it stop line managers or approvers from approving them. When staff request leave that exceeds your restrictions, they will be warned of the restriction and that the request may be rejected. When the request is sent to the line manager or approver, they will also see the same warning that your restrictions have been exceeded.
